Botox (botulinum)

Injections of botulinum toxin can reduce the amount of sweat by 70 to 90 percent. Patients with severe hyperhidrosis benefit more than those with moderate hyperhidrosis. This is because 90% of a large sweat secretion is subjectively rated as better success than an equal reduction with little sweat secretion.

And by the way: In the case of hands or feet, the palms of the hands or feet are first made insensitive. The Kreyden practice clinic has developed its own method, which is very much appreciated by the patients.

How does the Botox treatment work?

In the armpit area, the injections are applied without anesthesia. The treatment is uncomfortable but not painful. Several punctures are made in each armpit. The axillary area to be treated is first marked using an iodine-starch reaction, the so-called Minor’s sweat test.
